Yeah. The fact that VMware and other VM clients can emulate drivers through their own software, but Microsoft can't even make their own OS work, is a frikin disgrace.
Drivers for a XP virtual machine
I created a Windows XP virtual machine using the Hyper-V Manager on my Windows 11 Pro, activated it and installed the basic software (codecs and some other utilities).
However, I don't have any sound, can't connect to the internet (I already set up a legacy adapter) and can't install Plus! XP cause I don't have "hardware that can support 16-bit applications".
I'm in need of all drivers (and any other piece of software) that can actually make the VM usable in some way.
These are the specs of my laptop:
- 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H 2.30Ghz
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GDDR6 6GB
- Crucial 64GB DDR5 4800Mhz
- Crucial P5 Plus PCIe 4.0 NMVe 1TB
- Crucial P5 Plus PCIe 4.0 NMVe 2TB (the VM is installed on this drive)
Notice that I'm well aware of the situation for the XP support. I know it officially ended ages ago, I know it's an old system, I know it's not secure and blah blah blah.
Please, completely abstain from commenting if you are gonna mention that, I won't upvote your comment nor anything related since it will be absolutely useless to my situation. Avoid wasting your time and mine.

We get it, dude. Chill.

As the computer is recent, it won't even have a manufacturer's driver for XP.
You can try on some sites that provide alternative drivers, as below:
