I can't uninstall it. I have to re-uninstall it every reboot. I change the defaults to what I want and after reboot it installs itself again and makes it's own decision of what is default...
Can't uninstall a program for it, it doesn't show up in the list of apps. Going to device manager, clean nahimic, right back again. I got this virus from Sonic Studio 3.
I DON"T WANT IT!!!

It is not a virus. Nahimic is an audio software made by A-Volute – a France-based company specialized in gaming audio solutions.

Similar to what Realtek and Conexant software did, Nahimic allows users to make all sorts of audio enhancements and adjustments via a single control panel application. It promises advanced audio features such as virtual surround sound mixing, bass boosting, voice clarity filter, volume stabilizer, etc. **** It's integrated to many products manufactured by reputable brands such as MSI, Gigabyte, etc.

    This is a poor answer.

If I uninstall a program, and I don't want it, I expect it to be uninstalled.

If software decides on it's own that it can't be uninstalled, that's an <profanity removed> virus.

I want this **** gone. I don't need any "Enhancements". I just want the audio I'm playing to play.

As @michael Clark6 said, it's OEM enforced malware.

It's not a virus but it is effectively OEM enforced malware that should be purged from your system if you care about sound quality at all. It inserts it's APO into everything and keeps getting reinstalled by windows update unless you go out of your way to block it.

    What malware?

Your motherboard model will front and center advertise that it comes with nahimic. Something like this:

    https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z490%20Pro4/index.us.asp

If you don't want a motherboard that comes with nahimic, then don't buy that motherboard model.

If it is an audio enhancement technology, not a virus, why did my Norton Firewall just catch NahimicService trying to connect to the internet??

No matter how hard I try to eliminate it, it shows up again in new places. I've found it in 3 places so far.
