Windows 11 - galaxy buds showing up but not connecting.

For months now I haven't been able to connect my galaxy buds 2 to my windows 11 laptop (an ROG Strix g17). Whenever I try, it just says "connecting" for about 1 minute before an error message saying "Couldn't connect. Try connecting again." pops up, I then try to click on them again but now it doesn't even start connecting at all no matter how many times I click, before eventually disappearing as a Bluetooth option entirely. They work with every other device I've tried them with including my phone (a Samsung galaxy A50) and a different windows 11 laptop (a Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro), but not my laptop. I've tried all the basic remedies I could find; restarting my laptop, resetting my buds, updating my drivers, reinstalling them, etc. but all to no avail. I should add that these buds were paired with my laptop at a point, but I unpaired them to try and fix an issue I had where they kept disconnecting randomly, hence this current predicament.

    Hi Eto,

I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting the issue so far. It's unfortunate that the problem still persists despite the steps we've taken.

Ensuring the proper pairing process can sometimes make a difference. Here's a step-by-step guide:

    > Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is turned off and your Galaxy Buds are inside their charging case.

    > Insert the Galaxy Buds into the charging case in the correct position.

    > Close the case, and the battery indicator on the case should flash, indicating they are ready to pair.

    > If the battery indicator doesn't flash, the buds might need a charge. Charge them for at least ten minutes before attempting to pair.

After that follow these steps to re-pair your Galaxy Buds:

    > Press Windows + I key to open Settings.

    > Click Bluetooth & Device.

    > Turn on Bluetooth.

    > Click "View more devices" and look for Galaxy Buds from Audio.

    > If you find your Galaxy Buds in Audio click three-dots (...) and select "Remove device"

    > Click "Add device".

    > Select "Bluetooth".

    > Now, open your Galaxy Buds case.

    > Wait for the scan and look for Galaxy Buds in the list. Make sure it's in range.

    > Pair Galaxy Buds.

Please don't hesitate to get back to me with the outcome of these steps, or if you have any further questions.

    Best regards,

    John J.D.

    Hi John J.D,

Sorry I didn't state this in the original post but yes, other Bluetooth devices work on my laptop, I have a Logitech MX anywhere 3 mouse that I use everyday. Another thing of note is that I have tried pairing a different pair of galaxy buds 2s to my laptop and still got the same error message.

I thank you for your help but I've updated my PC and tried everything you said but still get the same error.

    Hi Eto,

I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

To narrow down the problem, could you please let me know if other Bluetooth accessories work properly on your system?

You can start by ensuring your PC is up-to-date by going to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.

Please run the DISM (Deployment Imaging Servicing and Management) and SFC (System File Checker) tools. You can find step-by-step here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/usi...

After that follow these steps to re-pair your Galaxy Buds with your Windows 11 laptop:

    > Press Windows + I key to open Settings.

    > Click Bluetooth & Device.

    > Turn on Bluetooth.

    > Click "View more devices" and look your device from

(Input if mouse or keyboard, Audio if headphones, Other devices if phone)

    > If you find your device in (Input, Audio, or Other devices) click three-dots (...) and select "Remove device"

    > Click "Add device".

    > Select "Bluetooth".

    > Wait for the scan and look for your device in the list. Make sure it's in range.

    > Pair device.

If the issue persists after these steps, please restart your PC and run DISM and SFC once again before attempting to re-pair your Bluetooth device.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Let's work together to resolve the issue.

    Best regards,

    John J.D.
