School Account With Office 365 Causing Error Notification

Hello,

A year ago I transferred to new university which provides Office 365 to it's students. Since accessing Office 365 for the first time, I continuously got notifications stating that there is an issue with my work or school account. Recently, I cloned my laptop onto a desktop. The laptop continues to display the notification in the same way as before, the desktop displays a pop-up alert instead. This pop-up occurs every 2-4 hours and instantly minimizes whatever application I have open at the moment. Whenever I click sign-in on the alert I am greeted with another error screen. Unfortunately, because of the nature of this support ticket (which is likely only going to receive a half-baked response from an IT worker who doesn't know how to fix the problem) I cannot insert a screenshot of the errors in question. Instead, I will give the error codes manually as best I can.

Error code: 80180014

Correlation ID: 38ca04b8-2813-4217-873a-d8538d997a67

Timestamp: 2023-08-17T23:14:39Z

Server message: Unknown error code: 0x80180014

My question is, if there is no known fix for the issue, can I disable the alert so that it does not continue to interfere?

    Hello, this is Emily.

You can paste the screenshot in your reply and hopefully that works.

Without seeing the exact notification, I might be giving you the wrong answer, but based on what you described, it can be a cache issue.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School, click on your school account and disconnect. Restart the computer. When you use Office 365, sign in again and see if that clears it.

Another way to try is to go to Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credential. Find all mentioning of old and new school accounts, delete them. Restart and sign back into Office 365 to see if it works.

If neither works, once I see the screenshot, hopefully I will have a better idea what's going on. Thanks!
