Hello,

I ran the Windows PC Health Check Setup application. The results indicate that my Lenovo W540 PC does not meet the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11 Professional. I am not totally convinced that I can't upgrade to Windows 11 Professional.

I have a Lenovo W540 with Windows 10 Professional with Windows Pro Version 22H2 currently installed.

Device Make: Lenovo ThinkPad W540

Product: 20BG0014US (Machine Type Model) (Lenovo)

SERIAL: R90B120V

My Question: Is it possible with modifications that my Lenovo W540 can upgrade to Windows 11 Professional??

Please advise. Thank you,

Mark

    Sorry, I was offline.

Microsoft were testing and adding some more processors, and did add some to the list, they indicate they have now completed testing, and no more processors will be added to the official list.

It is possible to install Windows 11 on an unsupported processor using the Windows 11 ISO, I have Windows 11 installed on an unsupported Core i7 7700HQ processor and Windows 11 runs very smoothly, however Microsoft advise you do not do that, they will not be liable for any problems caused by doing that and also you would not receive Windows 11 updates, however, everyone that has installed Windows 11 on an unsupported processor is still receiving updates.

Microsoft provide the required registry edit on this link:

    Hello Dave,

I ran the utility and received the following results: I just noticed Secure Boot is disabled.

How do you enable Secure Boot? Please advise about the processor. The processor has 4 cores and 8 threads as shown. Also, TPM is 1.2 detected. Let me know. Thank you.

    Hi Mark,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

I think the only incompatible component may be your processor and if so, you can still upgrade to Windows 11.I need more information about your system.

Download the tiny utility from the link below, then run that utility and please provide a screenshot of the result of tunning that scan
