Can't un-combine taskbar items in Windows 11 after latest update

My system just did the lastest windows 11 update and all my tasbar items have been combined. When I go into taskbar behaviours to uncheck the option, the option does not exist? I tried searching settings and nothing appears. What can I do?

Microsoft needs to hurry up and push that change out to everyone then!!! Some of us absolutely loathe combining everything in a single window or single icon, and because we're working on a company machine can't just install 3rd party software to fix Microsofts screw-ups.

Combining everything makes selecting a specific item very inefficient. Personally, I find Windows 11 to be the worst version of Windows to be released since Vista.

I agree with the original author. I do not operate well with all my open windows hidden/collapsed under the icon. This takes away minutes of productivity every day and adds immense frustration to use of the "new and improved" Windows. Why take away this option? We should all have more ways to use a program the way that works best for us with the release of newer versions, NOT LESS. Please fix! Thank you!

    Hi [I][I][I][I][I],

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The Taskbar in Windows 11 is very limited compared to the one in Windows 10, currently there is no native way to ungroup the taskbar icons.

The good news is, Microsoft have listened to the Insiders that tested Windows 11 and they are now testing new taskbar functionality and so we should receive the new functionality in upcoming updates to Windows 11.

In the meantime, please open the feedback hub (Windows Key + F) and provide your feedback on the lack of functionality on the taskbar in Windows 11 to the developers there.

A agree. The list of productivity destroying changes to 11 is aggravating.

The grouping is at the top of my list, but there are plenty of others.

I am not sure who decides what is "better" at Microsoft, but it makes me wonder if those decisions makers actually use their products daily.

    Hello,

The never combine mode feature for the taskbar is only available starting with the Windows 11 build 23466 (Dev) and build 25915 (Canary) Insider builds. It's not available in the public builds yet.
