No wifi access after Bitlocker lock.

Hello, my computer locked into bitlocker mode, I had my key handy and entered it in. However, after logging back into my laptop; internet access and Bluetooth access are both unusable. It looks as the only way I can access the internet is to use an Ethernet cable, and I don’t have an Ethernet cable handy. Is there a fix for this?

You will need to use another computer to download the latest Wi-Fi driver from the manufacturer's website, save it to a flash driver, and then install it on your laptop.

If you don't have another computer, you can use your smartphone to download the driver and then copy it to your computer and install it.

    Hi, Robinson

Thanks for the advice, I looked into it and the laptop straight up missing a wifi driver. Performing a network reset or driver reset doesn’t bring it back either. I also cannot go to any websites and install this driver because it cannot connect to the internet

    Hi, Sean,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Your computer may have been locked because of a driver update, especially a Bios update and this update may have the wifi driver stop to working. Downloading and installing the latest version of the Wifi driver from your laptop manufacturer's website should fix this problem.

If the problem persists or you cannot find the correct driver on the manufacturer's website, provide the full model of your laptop and a screenshot of the system information and the version of the driver installed and I'll be glad to help you find the correct driver.

    -System information:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Run

2-Type: msinfo32 and click on Ok

    -Driver version:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Device Manager

2-Click to expand the Network adapters

3-Right-click on the Wifi driver and click on properties

4-Take a screenshot of the General and Driver tab
