Hi,

Error sending End of Post message to ME: HECI disabled...

How can I fix this?

I have Windows 10 Home. And I did not update BIOS. Rather I had forced shut down system. And that is when I started seeing this error.

I got it checked the hard drive is connected to the motherboard.

I am at a loss. Do I need to reinstall the windows software?

    Hello,Debasish Roy1

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thank you for providing the details about the issue you're encountering during the boot process with the error message "Error sending End of Post message to ME: HECI disabled." It seems that this issue started after a forced shutdown and you're now facing difficulties with booting into Windows 10 Home. To assist you further, I'd like to gather some more information:

    1. When you encounter this error, does the system eventually proceed with the boot process, or does it become unresponsive or stuck on the error message?
    2. Have you noticed any other unusual behaviors, such as slower system performance or unexpected crashes, aside from the boot error?
    3. Do you have access to the BIOS settings on your computer, and if so, have you made any changes in the BIOS before or after the error started occurring?
    4. Is there any specific hardware or peripheral device you've recently connected to your computer that might be related to this issue?
    5. Have you encountered any other error messages or issues prior to this one, or is this the first significant issue you've experienced?

Additionally, please provide the following details:

    • The make and model of your computer or laptop.
    • Any recent software updates or changes you've made to your system before the issue started (besides the forced shutdown).

Regarding your question about reinstalling Windows, it might be premature to do so without understanding the root cause of this error. Let's try to diagnose the issue first to determine the appropriate solution.

Once I have this information, I'll be able to provide you with more targeted troubleshooting steps to resolve the boot issue and determine if a reinstallation of Windows is necessary.

Looking forward to your response so that I can assist you further.

    Best regards,

    Chandy |Microsoft Community Support Specialist

After observation and inquiry, it seems that the BIOS of HP itself has not been successfully updated. According to the feedback from the HP community, the error message "Error sending End of Post message to ME: HECI disabled, proceeding with boot" indicates that the BIOS firmware may need to be downgraded or rolled back to an older version, or it may be corrupted.

And it doesn't seem to be an uncommon problem, common with firmware updates pushed by device manufacturers via Windows Update, which can be installed without your realizing it.

In this regard, I suggest that you contact your local HP support and ask if you can request offline maintenance personnel to perform a downgrade or rewrite the BIOS using USB. Regarding the blue screen problem in Windows, the error code is Kernel Security Check failure, which means that the driver The program releases or references incorrect kernel parameters, and then Windows triggers BSOD to restart your computer in order to protect these kernel files. This kind of problem often occurs after the BIOS firmware is updated.
