Apropos of the issue at hand I described earlier I've been researching this for days on end, I came across this. It seems Gravostyle isn't the only OEM having issues either, GE is having issues as well.

Yes I actually did and had a long conversation with the rep who also happens to service the machine I work with at work and his response was that in essence Gravostyle is waiting on Microsoft to provide them with some sort of direction to go.I guess Gravostyle is,as are many other vendors, having issues with the legal ramifications of providing operating system drivers to run their equipment because it opens up a whole other realm of legal responsibilities as per conflicts with other private and future Microsoft drivers of all sorts.Yes,I did set up my old machine with a straight parallel to Centronics connector running off LPT1 and still the same problem. My old machine updated to 22H2 by itself and I wasn't aware of this printing problem until long after the 10 day grace period for rolling back updates had taken place.

Quite true, they do not but herein lie the problem. LPT1 is an IEE1284 article which provides bidirectional support to legacy printers yes, but it also provides bidirectional support to many, many other types of controllers that only require a simple printer emulation driver (2 or more response codes, usually &CR and &LF) that Microsoft's' Generic/Text Only driver used to provide. Many PLC controllers, industrial testing units, sheet metal machines such as punch presses and turret punches all use simple data transfer. When 22H2 update happened on Windows 10 driver 6.1.7600.16385 was rendered unusable and replaced with driver10.0.22000.1042 which does'nt work. I tried to reinstate the previous driver and Windows would not let me, it kept defaulting to the updated driver. This is a shot of my system. Ive done the virtual box route with no success but I may try this again and try HP's generic driver that they offer..Any ideas on what I should do next?

My hardware model is a New Hermes EP controller with Gravostyle 5 third party software. This runs a V3000 engraver which I use to make tags and bronze plaques for sale in my spare time.

The apps' software loads the data into Windows fine as alwaysto the point that the status window says its printing but the windows generic driver will not load the data to the controller per IEEE 1284.That makes it a windows problem. In Talking with the OEM of my app software they say they are waiting on you for an update. They have submitted a warning to their customers not to update to Windows 11 because of this issue. So i dont know if OEMs are supposed to handle this or you are,but they arent by far the only OEMs having this issue.
