Windows 11 drops my sound card drivers (Sound Blaster X3)

I never had this issue in Windows 10, but twice now in Windows 11, my sound card drivers are being dropped by Windows 11, forcing me to install the drivers again and painstakingly set my sound settings up again. I could be playing a game, watching the Netflix or Disney Plus Windows apps, or watching TV on my Happage! WinTV-HVR-935HD USB HDTV tuner with SichboPVR. In Device Manager, the Creative Sound Blaster X3 no longer shows and doesn't show up after a restart.

The only way to get my sound back is to install the driver again, restart my rig, and set up my sound settings, including the volumes for all my 5.1 speakers as having them all set to the same volume sounds wrong and they don't sound like the same volume.

Is there something I can do to stop this from happening, or is this just Windows 11 being Windows 11?

I am including a paste of my DXDiag information.

    Hello Hoover,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Based on the information you've provided, the programs associated with the current anomaly are quake2ex_steam.exe related applications and components, as well as EADesktop.exe and Widgets.

    1. If you upgraded your system from Windows 10 to Windows 11 via Windows update, I would recommend uninstalling all audio devices and removing the associated drivers in Device Manager, restarting the system and seeing if it works. "Win*" + "X" > "Device Manager" > "Audio inputs and outputs" or "Sound, video and game controllers", find your* sound devices , then right click > "Uninstall device", then reboot to see if it works. The system will automatically search and install the driver suitable for your device generally. If it still does not work, you may go to the official website of your device manufacturer to download the corresponding model driver and install it manually. After the installation is completed, reboot and see if the device works properly.
    2. Then regarding the game program issue, I suggest you check the in-game audio settings, which you can set to default.
    3. Then adjust the settings of the exclusive mode of the audio output device. Win + Q to open the search box, type "mmsys.cpl" and press Enter to open the "Sound" interface, right-click your device > Properties*>* Advanced tab, you will see "Allow application to take exclusive control of this device" and "Give exclusive mode application priority" two items, you can disable (or enable) these items to check if the audio is normal.
    4. Regarding widget, you can reinstall it by the steps below: Please run Command Prompt as an administrator ("Win" logo key + "Q", enter "cmd", select "Run as administrator"), and enter the following command.
       winget uninstall MicrosoftWindows.Client.WebExperience_cw5n1h2txyewy

Then restart system and enter the follow command in Command Prompt.
       winget install 9MSSGKG348SP

    5. Additionally, you can Perform a clean boot (microsoft.com) to see if it is normal, this is a troubleshooting step. In this mode, we can further confirm whether it is caused by system problem or third-party software or personalized settings. So, please be patient. Disclaimer*: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.* These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

I think your model TV tuner card is not certified for Windows 11.

The only supported Windows OS are 10,8.1, 7, and XP.
