When attempting to update a Windows 10 device, to Windows 11, the update process fails with a error code of 0xc00000f0. We have tried the update assistant on multiple devices and keep receiving the same result. Is there a reason or fix for this error?

I was also getting the same 0xc00000f0 error code when using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant on Windows 10 Home on my HP laptop.

I was able to get past the error after uninstalling most of the hardware-related applications, not the hardware drivers.

In Windows 10, I went to Settings > Apps and uninstalled applications like Wireshark and npcap, Intel Graphics Control Panel, Intel Graphics Command Center, audio applications from HP and/or Realtek, and various powerline adapter utilities.

However, I did not uninstall the ELAN Touchpad Setting or Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management apps.

I logged into each user account and made sure that the applications were indeed uninstalled for each user account.

After uninstalling the hardware-related applications, I restarted Windows 10.

Then I reran the Windows 11 Installation Assistant and it finally completed successfully.

    Hi , William.

Open the command prompt (admin) run this command: Sfc /scannow , wait for the process to finish.

Then try to update windows 10 to 22h2.

After updating, see if it is possible to update to Windows 11 via assistance.

    Try these steps:

1 - Open the Command Prompt for the administrator (otherwise it won't work) (you can search for Windows)

2 - Write the sfc command and there will be different scanning options

    3 - Write sfc /scannow

4 - Wait for the progress to finish (you may need to restart your PC/Laptop after that)

5 - Try installing the update again

[ If it doesn't work and the error persists, then look for other ways on the Internet ]

I wish you the best of luck :)
