Why is my background now black and the text now white. You must have made this change on 8-18-2023 and I do not like it. How can I go back as it was on 8-17-2023 and before.

    Hello Horst, this is Emily.

    There can be several possibilities.

    I assume you were referring to your entire Windows being in dark theme? If so

    Go to Settings > Personalization > Colors.

    For Choose your color, select Light. See if this helps.

    If you are just saying your web browser is now in dark theme, then depends on what browser you are using, if you are using Edge, put this address in the address bar: edge://settings/appearance then select the light theme.

    The same thing happened to me with the update that added Copilot in Sept 2023. If you change to solid background it changes the text to white. I am on my PC several hours a day and eye strain is a big issue. I had a light background with black text that was easy on my eyes. If you force a change to get the black text, all of your office suite, task bars and browser colors will be affected and have strange background colors. Shame on Microsoft for changing Personalization to something that affects the entire office suite without your control. I suggest everyone with this problem turn in a Help ticket and ask for your old background colors and texts back. Be sure and create a restore point first. When they cannot solve your problem, turn in a complaint to return Personalization back the way it was. If we don't cost them Help moneys and technician time, they will not do anything to change it back.
