How does one move already downloaded games which were downloaded using the Xbox app on PC? I need to reformat my computer and am uninterested in re-downloading over a terabyte of software. I have a 2TB external drive which I purchased for this.

    Hello again,

I'm having trouble moving these apps back to my C drive after I reformatted my device. Neither the Xbox app nor the Installed Apps window seems to see my games which I moved to the backup drive: https://i.imgur.com/RGkuEng.png

Are there any additional steps required to continue restoring my Xbox app games?

Hi, I am Dhanam, Independent Advisor here to work with you on this issue.

I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Method 1: Go to Settings, click "Apps", and select "Apps & features".

Find the games that you downloaded from the Microsoft App store, click it, and select "Move".

Click the drop list to select a new drive (such as D), and click "Move".

Method 2: Open Storage settings by typing storage at the search bar and select "Storage" to open it.

Step 2. Click "This PC (C:) " to open the Storage usage of C: drive. And click "Apps & games" to continue.

Step 3. On Apps & games, scroll down to Apps & features, selected desired application or program and click the "Move" button.

Then select D: or another drive as the target location and click "Move" to transfer the selected program.

Step 4. Wait for the migration to finish.

Appreciate the support; appears to be working: https://imgur.com/7wyrPWv.png

After this step and after transitioning to a new computer / reformatted computer, is the final step to move these "apps" back to the C drive? And the Xbox app will recognize the apps automatically?
