Hi, I have Windows 11, bought just a couple of months ago, (ASUS vivobook pro 15 OLED) should be a good machine however, I can not skip through any videos when I want to play. I CAN play them but then when I was to skip a video to another time, it takes FOREVER, it's like it was buffering for ages, whether it is 4k video or 1080p video. I tries MEDIA PLAYER, I tried VLC which I downloaded because I thought it will help, I tried Windows' Film & TV player, and it happenes on every player. Why's that? Why can't I skip through the videos?

Hi, I am having the same problem. I have tried what you suggested but the problem persists. It is happening to me on my pc on videos that are downloaded to my computer. The video types are MP4, but I have other videos that are MP4 and I can skip just fine, although they are not similar in length. The videos that I cannot skip are longer than the ones I can skip. The videos that I can skip are less than 5 minutes but the ones that I can't are long. Though me personally, I don't believe that is the problem. The difference in the videos as well are the ones that I have recorded with OBS plus MP4 I cannot skip. I have videos that I have recorded with OBS but are not MP4 are able to skip. Also the videos that I have clipped with GeForce Experience that are MP4 are able to skip. I have tried Moves & TV as well as Media Player and I am unable to skip, select a point in time in the video, or alter the speed of the video. So basically,

    OBS + MP4 doesn't work
    everything else does
MP4 clips, and other OBS recordings with other video types work.

    Hope this helps, thanks.

Hi, my name is Anderson Souza, I hope I can help you with your issue.

Does this happen with videos downloaded to your PC or videos on streaming platforms? If they are downloaded videos, what format are these videos, what are the file extensions?

Check if your system already has all the latest updates installed, go to Start menu > Settings > Windows Update, check and apply all updates.

After installing the pending updates and restarting the computer, go back to the same Windows Update screen, click Advanced Options > Optional Updates, apply the optional updates, and restart the PC.

Also, ensure your apps are up to date. Check the proper procedures at the link below:

    Check if the problem persists.
