so i bought forza 4, and the first part of the game runs fine tell i get to the point that i get in the first car you choose at the start of the game (it don't matter which one i choose or what avatar i choose) as soon as the camera spins around where you "start driving" from the size of the building, it crashes with the following (EVENT VIEWER)

i have tried everything from checking the permissions on the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.SunriseBaseGame_1.477.714.2_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe folder i've checked several registry keys (as suggested in other forums) for correct permissions. all i am getting from forza support is to make a new user account and reinstall the game. (not sure how that will help fix THIS issue) it may help get it running but then again i would not be fixing the problem just bandaiding it. i know the exception code is an Access Violation. but i am not able to determine the rest of the codeings. i appreciate all the help i can get. thanks

    sorry for that,

Please try this to reset the Xbox app:

    Click on the start button

    Go to Settings

    Click on Apps

    Search for the app

Click on the result, then choose "Advance options"

    Click on "Reset"

After doing this, please restart your PC/laptop to make sure it'll completely go through. Don't worry, you should have an email regarding this chat and can use it to jump back in here.

If the steps above won't work, please open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

    Then Restart your PC

    Hey, how you doing?

Thank you for contacting us and welcome to the Microsoft Community.

My name is Vitor. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

I'm very sorry for this happening.

    Please follow the guidelines below.

Go to windows update and click on get updates.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win...

After updating, see what version your windows is that way, and tell me.

The version consists of 4 digits(22H2).

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402739...

And then go to the Microsoft Store, Library > Downloads & Updates > Get Updates for the Xbox App and Game Services.

Update everything in both places, restart the PC and let me know if it worked.

If there is no update available or the error still persists. Follow the guidelines below.

    Step 2

Try reinstalling the "Game Services" app on your Windows 10/11 device.

Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen and select (Administrator) Windows PowerShell .

In Administrator: On the Windows PowerShell screen, copy and paste the following command and press Enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

In the same window, copy and paste the following command and press Enter:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on this page and select Yes when prompted for User Account Control (UAC).

Reboot your device and try to install it again.

    Step 3

If the procedure doesn't work, try the following:

Go to Start > Settings. In this window, click on the Applications button.

From here, type in the search box, 'Games'. This should show the 'Gaming Services' application which is about 18MB or more.

    Right-click and click Advanced Options.

First of all, try the "Repair" option. If this still doesn't resolve the issue, click on the "Reset" option.

    Restart the PC.

    Step 4

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.

If some Windows functions are not working or if Windows crashes, use System File Checker to scan Windows and restore files.

While the steps below may seem daunting at first glance, just follow them in order, step by step, and we'll try to get you on the right path.

Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)

To do so, follow these steps from this official article published at the link below on the Microsoft support page:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/topic/use-t...

    Step 5

If none of these procedures work, try to restore your PC's operating system through the ISO image tool, using this tool you will be able to keep your installed games and files.

Download Windows ISO from this website.

    http://aka.ms/DownloadW10ISO

    First download the ISO

Open the ISO image tool, inside there will be a file called SETUP.exe, select update, download it from the cloud and choose "keep game and apps"

It's pretty simple, this will update your files, without losing anything.

If you are using Windows 10:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

If you are using Windows 11:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

Download > Open ISO Image Tool > Open SETUP.exe > Select Update > Download from Cloud > Keep Games and Apps.

If none of these steps work, let us know so we can explore other options. I'm here to help you solve this problem. Please don't hesitate to ask questions or provide additional details that may be helpful.

    I will be waiting.

    Thanks

    Vitor S.
