How to disable the start up backup request?

Hi everyone, I've a problem with Windows 11 insistence. When I've installed Win 11, right before loading the desktop on the boot up, I was asked to connect my pc to microsoft cloud (maybe OneDrive?) to backup every file in my pc. I didnt' want to and I never did. The option I had were to do it or to tell the PC to ask me again in 3 days. I deleted OneDrive and made various changes, I don't remember everything I did but one thing I know for sure is that I deleted or deactivated OneDrive.

Anyway I wasn't asked anymore to backup my pc when I turned on my pc for months, until now. It happened to me few minutes ago again and this time I selected "ask me again in 3 days".

As there are no other buttons except "ask me again in 3 days" and "ok" I would like to understand how to permanently deactivate this question. I went on Windows' options but I didn't find specifically related to this. Anyone can help me?

Thanks in advance

Hey, Don't know if you have found how to fix it yet but there is a way. I also remove onedrive from windows each time I install it because I don't need it or use it. I have my pc backed up to my NAS server that is backed up to another NAS server. So, I am good on backups. I don't need another, Microsoft can stop begging me to use there's.

    1. Open the Start menu and click Settings. Alternately, you can use Windows key + I to open Settings directly.
    2. When Settings opens, click on System on the left, and click Notifications on the right.
    3. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Notifications screen and expand the Additional settingssection.
    4. Uncheck each of the 3 Additional settingsoptions.

This has worked for me so far.

    Hope this helps.

I have the same problem, If you click the Start Menu, and then your profile (absolute lower left-corner), you get a message "Backup your files". I've ignored/Remind me Later/Etc for MONTHS - BUT IT STILL COMES BACK.

Can we seriously just turn these shenanigans off??? Is this OneDrive trying to intervene, or something else? Windows 11? IDC, TURN IT OFF.

How do we turn this **** off? I'm not backing up my files to the damn cloud, stop asking me, and go away.

If you turn off the notifications under system/Notifications at the very bottom, expand additional settings, uncheck the 3 in there and you should be good. Has worked for me so far.

Your answer has nothing to do with the question. If you do not know the answer please do not comment.

I do not use 365 and will be really annoyed when the day comes that my purchased software needs updating and can only be replaced by a subscription. I backup to both a NAS and external drive so I do not need any further backups. I am sick to death of these constant prompts. I have so much data that I would exceed the free limit and then I'd be required to pay for extra cloud storage. Perhaps that is the driver for what is going on here. It's enough to make me want to get a Mac.
