Second user can't sign in to Windows 11

I recently bought a new family computer with Windows 11. I have set up my personal account and it seems to be working well. However, when i try to sign in with my child's account it doesnt work.

My child has never logged into a Windows computer before, her account has only been used on an Xbox. At the sing in screen, I click on her account, and then "Sign in". The small spinning circle appears next to the mouse arrow, but nothing more happens. I don't get the prompt to enter the password, or the option to let her choose a PIN code.

I want to set up 5 accounts, one for each family member, but it seems like I am stuck.

Does anyone know a solution to this?

    Hello, this is Emily.

Can you confirm if this is how you added your child's user in Windows 11?

Settings > Accounts > Family, click on the drop down next to your child's listing and choose "Allow sign in"?

If that's not how you did it, you will need to do it this way.

If you've done it that way but it won't sign in, there are two things I would like to review before we move to potential solutions:

    1. Hold down Windows + R keys, type in netplwiz and hit enter, when launched, does it list your child's email in addition to yours?
    2. Hold down Windows + R keys, type in sysdm.cpl and hit enter. Then go to Advanced tab, click on Settings button at the User profile secton. Does it list anything that looks like your child's user profile? Can be just the first 5 letters of your child's email address.

    Let me know.

    Thanks!
