the free up space option in windows only frees up a couple of GB at best, I also tried the TreeSize app and it only shows the installed applications that I have and does not show the over 200gb system files
System files taking up over 200gb of space, how do I clear it up?
My laptop only has a 500gb SSD storage, I currently have 2 games installed and the rest are microsoft apps and some game launchers but my storage capacity is almost full and upon checking my storage System Files is taking up around 200gb of storage even though windows11 is supposed to be just around 30gb or so if i am not mistaken. Is there any fix for this without having to do a clean reinstall of my OS?

2023-10-13T00:31:24+00:00 Hi, good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.
Please check the support article below on How to Free up drive space in Windows.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fre...
If this doesn't work, please try downloading and installing this free tool called TreeSize to identify apps or files that are taking up more of your storage space.
https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free
Once installed, open the app, wait for the scan to complete then expand the folders.
Please check and identify apps or files that are taking up more of your storage space., Select and right click the file you don't need. Click "Delete" to free up space.
Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.
Kind regards,
John DeV

2023-10-13T02:36:20+00:00 Yes, it is safe to delete the Windows.edb but Windows will take a while to rebuild the index. Please check and try the suggested methods in the link below.

Note: No need to download and install software from the site and just follow the instructions.
