The Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems

WiFi has randomly disappeared from my laptop midway through gaming. Using a Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14IHU5.

After some troubleshooting I have found the following problem:

The Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems

What on earth does that mean and how do I fix it? Thank you in advance

Update - I have tried uninstalling the problematic network adapter from device manager and installing an updated version from the Intel website and I am stilling getting the following errors under "device status" in properties:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

Any advances on "When was the last time it worked properly?"

Cheers

Thank you for updating me with that information. I apologize that this did not resolve the issue.

Please try the additional methods below.

    **Shutdown your computer

Unplug the power cable from the laptop for 30 minutes, then plug it in again and turn on.

**Please try to turn off Fast startup

Press Start then search Control panel

Under View by > select Small icons

    Select Power Options

On the left side, Click "Choose what power buttons do"

Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable"

Under Shutdown settings > Turn off fast startup

Power off the system then pull the power cable from the laptop, wait for 15 minutes.

    Power back on

    **Open Device Manager

    Expand the Network adapters

Find the Wireless driver in the list

Right click it and select Update

Click "Browse my computer for driver software"

Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

Make sure to put a check mark "Show compatible hardware"

Select an older driver from the list

Click Next then restart your computer using Clean Boot of Windows

**Press Start then search Device Manager

    Expand the Network adapters

    Find the Wireless driver

Right click it and select Uninstall device

Tick "Attempt to remove the driver for this device" box

    Click uninstall

After that, download and install the latest driver for your device using the link below.

If the issue still persists, you may need to consider performing a System Restore at an earlier date where everything is still working.

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: rstrui.exe

Press Enter. This will open System Restore

    Click the Next button.

Select the restore point at an earlier date where everything is still working.

    Click Next then Finish

    Thanks John

I tried all of these solutions and it still broken. I left it powered off overnight having attempted your methods and unfortunately I am still getting the exact same error messages.

    Can you suggest anything else?

    Cheers
