I tried to check it on my Windows 10, and it still has the Windows Media Player. Have you checked on this location if there's a Windows Media Player shortcut and run it?

Press Windows key + R then paste this path and press Enter.

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

Hi JoanL, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Are you referring to Windows Media Player Legacy? If so, click on the "Switch to Now Playing" button on the right corner of the app. Right-click in the middle of the app while playing a music and then select Visualization.

If you're referring to the pre-installed Media Player in Windows 11, unfortunately, there's no option to enable it. The current version is a UWP or Universal Windows Program, which is a different system than WMP Legacy, so visualization isn't available at the moment.

To get the legacy version, go to Settings > Apps > Optional features > View features > Search Windows Media Player, and Install.

The new Media Player is formerly Groove but they improved it. However, despite these changes, the visualization is not supported.

Seems I already had the Legacy version. I wanted to get the updates so I uninstalled it and I do not see any option to reinstall it.

Where do you get Windows Media Player Legacy? I don't see it at the Microsoft Store.

I was referring to the old media player. Actually while playing a song, I can get the visualizations to work. It's just that there is a different way to get to visualizations. Open Media Player and play a song then while playing, click on the lower right of the screen and a dropdown menu opens. Choose Visualizations and the one you want. and you will see the Visualization while the song is playing.

I believe I also played them without a song but can't remember exactly how I did it.

On the newer Media Player (I believe it came out before Windows 11) There is no way to select Visualizations..
