Yes, I think that is a good idea, if there is a drive connection problem, they may be able to fix that and you would not loose any of your files.
Boot Issue with Lenovo Legion 7i
Hello
Yesterday, windows started doing an update without asking me first, while my Laptop was unplugged. I couldn't do anything about it and hoped it would finish before the battery dies. It did, and I could use it normally for a few hours, and then it went into sleep more (I suppose) and turned off.
When I wanted to turn it back on, it was stuck on the startup screen, with the loading icon turning, and wouldn't boot again. Since then, I've been trying to find a solution to this for the past 8 hours.
I have tried resetting the BIOS settings, doing a repair (it says that it fails), tried uninstalling the latest updates (fails as well), tried booting it with USB and going into Repair mode from there, wanted to do a system restore (I have no restore points, my mistake), ...
I have no clue what else I can do, I don't want to lose my files so a factory reset would really be the absolute last thing I would do.
Can anyone help? I am at a loss.
Edit: Also as an observation, sometimes, the boot device doesn't show up in BIOS (the hard disc). But when plugging in the USB external boot, it seems to suddenly recognize the boot device as well. I don't know what this means.

2023-10-13T08:28:00+00:00 I now accessed it, but sadly in the file explorer, everything seems to be empty. I can see the usb and what is on it, but all the folders (desktop, pictures, etc.) don't open I suppose there is nothing on it).
Does this mean that the hard drive has been damaged?
Adding to that, I once again can't see the hard drive as boot device on BIOS. I don't have any knowledge, but it feels as if the connection to the hard drive is very bad, and it constantly disconnects. I don't know why it shows up more often when I plug in the USB.
Thanks

2023-10-13T07:58:42+00:00 Hi, thanks for your time.
Yes, I've tried all the recovery options, with and without the external USB boot. They all fail.
To Backup my files, I suppose I have to boot it using the hard disk? I tried it still using USB Boot but it didn't show any files, only the empty USB stick and the USB with the boot.
Thanks again

Have you tried all recovery options in the recovery environment both the local one and the one on the USB and you still cannot get Windows to boot up?
If you have, then you will need to reset Windows, try this method to backup your personal files first:
Insert a USB into your PC to hold your files
Open Command Prompt form the Recovery Environment
Type this into Command Prompt and press Enter:
notepad.exe
Notepad should open, select File - Open
You can then use the Open File dialog like a small File Explorer to drag your personal files and folders onto the USB
