Basically, this square won't GO AWAY. I already tried restarting. I've tried taking a screenshot but it won't appear in the actual screenshot...

If that square is not appearing in a screenshot, then it is most likely not Windows generated.
If you are using an external monitor, press the menu button on the monitor to try to find what function on the monitor is generating that square.
If you still cannot find the cause of that square, what is the make (Dell, Lenovo...etc) of your system and please provide a photo of your screen showing that square.

Please let me help you with this concern, I understand you are having issues with a square thing floating in the middle of your screen, Please try to disable all the start up items by opening the taskmanager and then go to the startup tab. Reboot and check.
