LG TV Set casting problem from Win 11

Hey :)

I'm using a laptop with Win 11 and an LG WebOS TV set - model: QNED816QA.

Whenever I'm connecting between my laptop and the TV using "Multiple Displays > Connect" -there is a serious lagging trouble.

Does anybody have a solution to that? LG technicians say it's a Windows problem.

Thank for the help :)

    Sure thing Arik...

My LG 65" is also hardwired, connected & available in "Bluetooth and Other devices" (always has been)

    Image

However, it does not show as an option in "Display settings - Multiple Displays - Connect"; so, even the desktop cannot be cast (same issue you're experiencing)

Also, Media Player can successfully cast and local video file to the LG65 TV across using wired LAN connection

Something has been changed in M/S Edge - Can someone from M/S please comment ?

CatteryDeveloper - Please provide router specifics re: - "allow laptop router pass-through"

Are there router parameters required to permit Edge browser or desktop casting to wired screens?

    Thanks John.

I'm casting the complete laptop screen to the LG TV set, not just Youtube or Edge Browser.Im doing it from the "Display settings - Multiple Displays - Connect" option, and then selecting my TV name.

Good day - I have a similar setup using W11 desktop and Edge (latest releases for both) with an LG 65in TV .

Both are LAN hardwired. For as long as I remember, casting to the TV regardless of source (Internet or local system) was never a problem; whatever was in the browser, could be cast to the TV.

Now, for some reason the LG TV is available as a casting device only when using YouTube, or local photos/video (so far, that's all I've been able to confirm) The mere fact that "Not available for this site" is displayed when using "Cast Media to Device" from "More Tools" would seem to indicate there are now restrictions on what source and/or material can be cast to a connected device (wired or wireless).

I have been through setting all recommended flags, loading optional Wireless display services, Miracast confirmed, etc

    Please advise :

    • What has Microsoft changed with respect to casting using Edge.
    • When did this change take place and specific reasons for the imposed limitation on what source(s) can be cast

    Thank You,

    John R

    Thanks a lot.

The laptop is 3 meters away so I guess it's pretty close.

The TV is connected with a cable to the router.

Refresh rate is set to 60Hz.

Could you clarify - "allow laptop router pass-through"?

    Thanks again.

I know there are some factors to having lag.You can try to hook up T.V to ethernet cable to your router. I do not experiance lag issues when casting to t.v device. Try 5G 180G router settings. Things to try.

    screen sharing your phone

    internet speedtest

    Moving device closer to T.V

    allow laptop router pass-through

try pushing a video to t.v through Vuze

    Settings>System>Display>AdvancedDisplay

Check Hz settings. Refresh rate should be over 50Hz
