This is the in-built microphone on an Acer Swift 3. When using Facebook messenger and also Teams I can hear the other person but they cannot hear me. The microphone starts a feedback loop with the speakers on the laptop. I have checked all the microphone settings. The only fault I see is when I test the microphone volume it is very low to non-existent. The sound recorder app. does not pick up anything. I'm moving towards a hardware fault for lack of. any other solution.

Hello! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your microphone on your Acer Swift 3. Based on the information you've provided, it seems like there may be a hardware issue with your microphone. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check if your microphone is muted: Sometimes, the microphone can be accidentally muted. Check if the microphone is muted in the settings of the app you're using.
    2. Update your audio drivers: Make sure that your audio drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the Acer website and downloading the latest audio drivers for your laptop.
    3. Check your privacy settings: Make sure that the app you're using has permission to access your microphone. You can do this by going to your Windows settings and checking the privacy settings.
    4. Try an external microphone: If the above steps don't work, try using an external microphone to see if the issue is with your built-in microphone.

If none of these steps work, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with your microphone. In this case, I would recommend contacting Acer support for further assistance.
