    Hello Heather, this is Emily.

    I reviewed your HP model's specs and I don't see a CD/DVD-rom for the device, hence there's no way for you to read a CD using this computer.

    It is very uncommon these days for devices to come with CD/DVD capacity because most data transfer can be done via flash drive, digital download, etc.

    Depends on what you are trying to read from the CD, if it is an install for a certain software, usually you can download digitally from the software publisher's website.

    If it is some data you or someone put together in a CD and you need to recover that data, you will need to hook up an external CD-rom via USB port, it may not be cost effective to invest on an external CD-rom for this purpose, so perhaps you can see if someone else can help you recover the data, or take it some local computer service place to have them get the data out for you into a USB flash drive.
