Hello! I have a printer for a very long time, but the old cable I used broke, I haven't printed with it for over a year, and today I bought a cable because we use need it for school, but when I tried to install the drivers off of it, it asked for me to connect the printer, even though it was connected, I took out the cable, put it back in, it didn't work, changed ports, still doesn't work, then I checked for updates and made sure everything was up-to-date on my laptop, but then I just got the USB device not recognized (The last USB device you last connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it), my printer's a Brother HL-1112E.
- Note: In device manager it shows as an Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed), I also tried to extract the drivers from the .EXE but when I try loading them it says it's a 32-bit driver, not 64-bit, even though I downloaded 64-bit ones.
Please help! Do I switch the cable for another one? I also have to say, this cable has a Ferrite Bead (The little cylinder on old chargers) and has that something to do with this?
OS: Windows 11
Printer: Brother HL-1112E
