Microsoft account in Win 10, remove and replace with another existing microsoft account

Hi, this is driving me crazy,

I setup a computer with my Microsoft account, it was to be my new replacement computer, nothing else was done or installed,

Then before i pulled my finger out to change computers, my wife needed one for work, so I just gave her my pending new computer.

She asked about my microsoft account and I said don't worry about it, well that has come back to bite me.

Now with all her data and shortcuts and accounts setup and a year or so passed, she is finding it a pain because my microsoft account is the primary account.
Apparently it is not easy or she can't do anything with many things because they want my account log in. Well I am still using mine so obviously Sync is turned off.
But now we have come to a time we need to remove my primary Microsoft account from that computer and make her microsoft account the primary one and not lose any of her shortcuts passwords or any other data.
I hope someone out there understands whats going on more than me.
I am thinking just delete my Microsoft account but if she loses any of her data I might as well go and buy a strong rope and a chair (not really) but I will be in deep **** for a while.I hope someone has the answers for me and thank you in advance for any help.

Hi. I'm Brian and I will do my best to help you.

If this had been me, I would have converted the existing account to a local account and then reconverted to a Microsoft account using her credentials.

My name is Mayumi. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

I understand that you want to remove your primary Microsoft account from your wife’s computer and make your wife’s Microsoft account the primary one.

To do so, you will need to CREATE a New Local Administrator account,

transfer all data from your wife’s account to the new account, and then remove your Microsoft account from the computer.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Create a new local administrator account by following these steps:
      - Press Windows key + I to open Settings.

      - Click on Accounts.

      - Click on Family & other users.

      - Click on Add someone else to this PC.

      - Select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.

      - Select Add a user without a Microsoft account.

      - Enter a username and password for the new account and click on Next.

      - Click on the newly created user and select Change account type.

      - Set the account type to Administrator and click on OK.

    2. Transfer all data from your wife’s account to the new account by following these steps:
      - Log in to the new local administrator account.

      - Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

      - Type control in the Open field and press Enter.

      - Click on User Accounts.

      - Click on Manage another account.

      - Select your wife’s Microsoft account and click on Change the account type.

      - Set the account type to Administrator and click on OK.

      - Log out of the new local administrator account and log in to your wife’s

        Microsoft account.

      - Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

      - Type %userprofile% in the Open field and press Enter.

      - Copy all files and folders from this location to a safe location (such as an

       external hard drive).

      - Log out of your wife’s Microsoft account.

    3. Remove your Microsoft account from the computer by following these steps:
      - Log in to the new local administrator account.

      - Press Windows key + I to open Settings.

      - Click on Accounts.

      - Click on your Microsoft account and select Remove.

      - Follow the prompts to remove your Microsoft account.

After completing these steps, your wife’s Microsoft account will be set as the primary one, and all her data, shortcuts, passwords, etc., will be preserved.
