Best Diagnostic Program?

I've been having issues with my Laptop (Asus x571GT) with some weird whirling noises coming from the HDD area.
But after checking the logs and seeing the stats in Task Manager, I've ruled out the HDD but I haven't been able to isolate the problem/sound.

Does anybody recommend a utility program that I can run that will check all the hardware/software to see what's causing that noise (it happens randomly) ? Or a program so when I see the stats I can say "Oh THAT is running really high at the same time I heard this noise, so it must be that" ?
I suspect it might be the fan, but need to have something concrete.

I read UserBenchMark is supposed to be pretty good, but online reviews trash it and when I went to download from the website, my Bitdefender said there was a Trojan inside.

Recommendations, please!

Thanks!

    Hi,

if you want to look at temps and stuff, I can recommend HWMonitor: HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID

If you want to stress test your system, I can recommend Cinebench for your CPU: Cinebench 2024 Downloads - Maxon

as well as furmark for your GPU: FurMark Homepage (geeks3d.com)

For a hard drive, probably crystal disk mark: CrystalDiskMark - Crystal Dew World [en] (crystalmark.info)

Other than that, I don't think diagnosing a weird sound using software is going to be easy... Have you tried removing the HDD and seeing if the problem still persists? The best way to test Hardware is generally other Hardware...

    Sincerely,

    LightJack

Asus has MyAsus, which I ran a diagnostic, and everything came back clean.

I took it to the Tech shop a few days ago when the problem occurred and the tech said he opened it up and cleaned it up a bit but found no problems.
But the way he said it didn't give me the most confidence in his ability. The main guy wasn't there so I'm gonna take it back there on Monday when the main guy comes back

I have all Dell computers and use their Support Assist. I run it once every week. Asus doesn't have anything like this. Have you ever cleaned the inside of your laptop?

    1. The laptop is over 4 years old
    2. Asus support, like many other manufactures is...
      a) "Do this. Did it work? No? Please do a system restore, or please mail in the product so our experts can look at it"

Does Asus provide any kind of support assistance? Is it still under warranty?
