My Norton software keeps telling me I have drivers out of date and want to charge me to update them! Can I do this for free?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

You should never use a 3rd party utility like Norton's to install or update your drivers, they install corrupt or incompatible drivers and they are a major source of system crashes.

If your drivers were out of date, Windows updates would install the required drivers automatically, the only place you should install drivers from is the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, or from Windows updates, and drivers are always free.
