Thank you for the clarification AnnMarie.

Any chance you are using the Photos app to transfer the files from the SD card? Have you tried accessing the File Explorer instead > This PC > SD card drive, and copy your photos out of the SD card from there to your local Pictures folder?

    Hello, this is Emily.

Depends on what kind of camera you have, go to your camera's local menu, look for file transfer mode. Make sure it is set to PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly where it is in the Camera settings because every brand/model can be different. Refer to your camera's manual if you have trouble finding it.

A workaround solution is to take the memory card out of the digital camera, usually it is an SD card. If your computer has an SD card reader, you can insert it directly there and read it from File exporer. I am a photographer myself. I always export my photos this way because then I don't need to rely on my camera's settings and keeping up with the camera driver.

    Hello Emily,

thank you for the advice, that is the way that I do load my pictures onto my computer. I will double check the setting however I do not think that is the issue. I used the same camera the night before with no issues when it came time to load. I also took a few shots with a different camera I have just to make sure the card was not corrupt and when I slid the card in the pictures appeared but were quickly replaced by that same error message. This is so frustrating, never had such an issue before.
