Laptop is unable to boot.

I have tried the troubleshoot of shutting down 3 times etc but, this does not work and laptop is in a continual loop of not starting and closing down straight away - ASU’s screen comes up, disappears in 3seconds only to appear again. I have no way to boot in safe mode/get further

All I did was ‘update and restart’ and now it won’t restart.

This happened a few hours ago after windows update but, without being able to get anywhere/launch in safe mode; I’ve no idea what to do

Help much appreciated

    If you are unable to open BIOS settings, it may be a hardware issue. Perhaps a problem with the BIOS itself or the motherboard.

    It's a good idea to check with the manufacturer about the warranty. The laptop is probably under warranty, and this issue should be covered by it.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    If your computer is not booting into the Windows Recovery Environment, the recovery files might be damaged. You can use the Recovery Environment from an installation media.
    If you don't have one, create one using the Media Creation Tool. Download the tool from the link below.
    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295
    Run the tool on a working computer and follow the on-screen instructions.
    You can create the installation media on an empty USB flash drive with at least 8GB.

    With the installation media, try to repair Windows startup by following the steps below.

    1. Start your computer using the installation media;
    2. Choose your language, select "Next", and click "Repair your computer";
    3. On the Choose an option screen, select "Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair".

    If it persists, use system restore to get Windows to the point where it was working.

    1. Start your computer using the installation media;
    2. Choose your language, select "Next", and click "Repair your computer";
    3. On the Choose an option screen, select "Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore" and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Feel free to ask back any questions.

    By default, computers usually boot using the installation media if it is connected to the computer.

    But if that doesn't happen, go to the BIOS settings and put the USB Flash Driver at the top of the BOOT priority.

    The procedure is different on each computer. Consult your computer/motherboard manual if necessary. Manufacturers usually make the manual available in the support area of their websites.

    Hi David

    Thank you for your response.

    Just to clarify, if I create this usb media creation file; it should hopefully automatically go to the screens required I.E ‘choose language’ etc?

    I’m just a bit concerned to go through it all only to find that it doesn’t work considering that I currently can’t even get to any screen at all

    I’ll give it a go when I have access to another laptop

    Thanks for your advice
