The only valid source of drivers is the Dell support page. Do not take drivers from any source other than the actual OEM of the equipment.

Most Dell re-installs will automaticalliy install all the drivers you need. The only one you need to be worried about at time of install is the Network driver. If that is missing, go to support.dell to get it. Because this driver is crucial, you should download it and have it ready BEFORE you install Windows.

In most cases, the Windows Update process itself will provide missing driers. But do not trust Windows Updates for drivers AFTER the initial install.

Drivers are very different from Windows software. They shoule NEVER be updated unless you have a problem which diiagnosis points to a specific driver. Most systems will go happily to the junk heaven neer having had a driver update and that is fine.

Also, do not install any software, not even AV until after all windows updates are completed.

I got some errors while trying to install the drivers from dell and some of them did install and some didn't. Here are the errors I got:

    • dynamic link library Kernel32.dll Error
    • installer encountered an error: 0x8007065e Data of this type is not supported.

I've spent hours trying to fix those errors and I think there are other errors that I forgot about. Can someone please help me fix these errors? Also, how do i fix the updater?
