Print Spooler turning off constantly Windows 10 22H2, can't print to PDF/OneNote Desktop

Print Spooler is turning itself off automatically, checked all settings, deleted/reinstalled all printer drivers, troubleshooter using Windows Troubleshooter. It won't stop turning itself off, whenever manually turned on, it turns itself off again and will not allow any printing. I do not have any printers on the computer, only need it to print to OneNote and PDF. Any help beyond the normal stuff online would be great, all other attempts have failed.

Try pluging the power supply of the printer into the same socket as the printer.

Explanation: This will connect the earth of the printer and the computer at the same point.

Data can get corrupted by earth loops.

    Hi Kyle100_29,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

    • Run the Printer troubleshooter. This is a built-in tool that can detect and fix common problems with the Print Spooler service. To run it, follow these steps:
      1. Press the Windows key+ X and select Settings.
      2. Type Troubleshoot on the search box and click on Troubleshooting Settings.
      3. Locate and click on the Printer troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
      4. Wait for the process to detect the problems that cause the printer spooler to keep stopping, and try to fix them.
    • Update your printer driver. An outdated or corrupted printer driver can also cause the Print Spooler service to stop working.
    • Check for Driver Conflicts: Even if you don't have any physical printers installed, corrupted or incompatible printer drivers can still cause the Print Spooler to crash. Make sure you've completely removed all printer drivers. Follow these steps:
      • Open the "Device Manager."
      • Under "Print queues," right-click on any listed printers and select "Uninstall device."
      • Also, check "Printers" and "Imaging devices" for any devices that might be interfering and uninstall them if needed.

A "clean boot" starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

    • Delete the Print Spooler files. Sometimes, the Print Spooler files can get corrupted or damaged, which can cause the service to stop working. To delete them, follow these steps:
      1. Press Windows Key + R then type services.msc and hit Enter to open the Services window.
      2. Scroll down & look for Print Spooler service and then select it.
      3. Right-click on Print Spooler service then select Stop.
      4. Press Windows Key + E to open File Explorer then navigate to the following folder: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
      5. Delete all the files in this folder and then close File Explorer.
      6. Go back to the Services window and right-click on Print Spooler service then select Start.
    • Repair Windows System Files: Use the built-in System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support
    • Create a New User Profile: Sometimes, user profiles can become corrupted, leading to issues like this. Create a new user profile and see if the problem persists on the new profile. Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be beneficial to consider performing a Windows 10 Repair or In-Place Upgrade, which can often fix underlying system issues without losing your data. You should back up your important files before attempting this. How to perform an In-place Upgrade with Windows 10 Step-by-Step Guide - Microsoft Community****

I hope these solutions help you fix the Print Spooler issue. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely
