last days i heard the laptop's fan kicking in, and i discovered a process called "WinGet COM Server" which is consuming CPU cycles.
i uninstalled WinGet from apps, but it appearded once again. i think that windows update reintalled it.
curiosly i couldn't find posts about this issue
i'm using win 10 Pro 22H2 i don't want any processes consuming CPU as my laptop is an audio dedicated workstation

winget upgrade --allThis works for me :)
today again, winget com server was running using my CPU.
i run al the commands above, nothing was fixed
what is this? i need to totally disable this process
Same issue here. On my audio computer that so far worked fine and where I have disabled all background processes that are not necessary, suddenly a process with the title:
WinGet COM Server
and a sole running task named:
WindowsPackageManagerServer.exe
appeared and is consuming constantly about 10% of CPU, which leads to glitches in my audio work station. I can't find it in my installed apps / programs and thus can unfortunately not uninstall it as some others could. When end the task in Task Manager it reappears within a second.
Is there any way how to get rid of it? Do I need to do something to see it in the installed apps list, so I can uninstall it?
Thanks in advance, Markus
I have the same issue. However, my laptop is managed by our IT group, so I'll need them to take care of the issue.
That said, "The winget command line tool enables users to discover, install, upgrade, remove and configure applications on Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers. This tool is the client interface to the Windows Package Manager service." You can find all about it, except how to uninstall here: Microsoft Learn - WinGet. Since it is an App from the Microsoft App store, I'd think you should be able to uninstall it from there.
can you help me find informations about WinGet COM Server, like a link to official windows docs, that i don't find. I have no control on it. Thanks you in advance ☺
