When I boot up my laptop and put in my password I get brought to the screen choose if you want to keep signing in with your face or fingerprint and then when I choose an answer and select next it tells me something went wrong and unusedbioconsent and when I click try again it doesn’t work and I’m just stuck here unable to do anything else or go to my main screen. I’ve also restarted my laptop quite a few times and it’s still the same.

Hello! My name is Mostafa; I will assist you today.

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue.

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows and try to log in: Press and hold the Shift key and restart Computer, then Troubleshoot > Advanced option > Startup Settings > Restart.

Run SFC

  1. Open the Start menu and search for "Command Prompt" or "CMD."Right-click on it and select "Run as admin.
  2. Open command prompt with administrator access
  3. Type each command below and wait until the scan is completed.

SFC /scannow

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If that does not help run Startup Repair.

  1. Boot Into Windows Recovery Environment.Press and hold the Shift key, and restart Computer.
  2. Next, under Choose an option, click on Troubleshoot.
  3. Next, click on Advanced options.
  4. Click on Startup Repair. Now it will start to diagnose your PC to find issues with the start-up.
  5. Next, select a user account and enter the password.
  6. Click Continue to begin Startup repair. This process may take some time, so wait till it is complete.

Please let me know if the above steps did not help. Thank you.

    (1) Did you try what I quoted earlier, at the "UNUSEDBIOCONSENT" screen...

    (a) Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

    (b) Click the Power icon (bottom right), then hold Shift as you click Restart.

    (c) Click "Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates".

    (d) Uninstall the latest quality update.

    (2) If it still asks for a password but won't take it, try it from Win 10 Installation media. Make it here...

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Download Windows 10 - This is always the latest finalized Win 10 version, currently 22H2.

Download MediaCreationTool22H2.exe & run it to make a Windows 10 Installation USB drive (or make then burn an .iso to DVD). Follow the instructions under "Using the tool to create installation media". As it says, match it to the Language, & Architecture(x64/64-bit or x86/32-bit) of the computer on which it will be used. The Windows Editionto take is "Windows 10", which includes both Home & Pro.

    (3) Then, to boot it, you need to press an F-key key during boot to get to the BIOS Boot Menu. If you don't know it...

    https://www.sysnative.com/forums/threads/get-access-to-bios-settings-boot-menu-f-keys-hotkeys-by-system-manufacturer-oem.23010/

Get access to BIOS settings & Boot Menu: F-keys/Hotkeys by System Manufacturer (OEM)

Note: That is an informative 3rd-party site. But I know nothing (bad or good) of any downloads or links that are there.

    (a) Insert the DVD or plug in the USB Installation media.

    (b) Bootor reboot the computer.

    (c) Press & hold the F-key at the manufacturer's logo (or at the black screen just before the logo).

If the key was pressed in time, mine shows activity at the bottom of the screen,

& the BIOS Boot menu soon shows up.

    (d) From the BIOS Boot Menu, choose the "UEFI" option for the media, if offered.

Mine names the device brand & precedes it with "UEFI:".

    (e) If it were a DVD inserted, you get a message to "Press any key" to boot it.

If not pressed in time, the DVD will be bypassed & Windows will try to boot.

    (f) When the Installation media boots, select "Repair your computer" instead of to install.

The computer will reboot to the Recovery Environment at the "Choose an Option" screen.

Hopefully, the external media won't ask for a password, or when it does, it will work. Good luck.

    Hi Mostafa,

I'm currently encountering the same issues that Winni did back when they originally posted in June 2023.

I'm currently experiencing these issues on my main PC, which is my Lenovo X1 Carbon (1st Gen, Type 3448) ThinkPad [Windows 10]. This is my only PC which I haven't used for the last 6 months. I started encountering this issue today after I booted it up and installed some system updates. The laptop restarted, and then from there I began experiencing the same 'UNUSEDBIOCONSENT' issues which Winni previously mentioned.

I followed your advice and although I couldn't get Windows to launch in Safe Mode, I did manage to access Windows Startup Repair [From the initial blue-screen after holding shift and pressing restart->troubleshoot->advanced options->startup repair].

However, when clicking on 'startup repair' I was taken to another blue-screen that prompted me to sign into my administrative Windows account. Despite multiple double and triple checks of the password's accuracy (including signing in successfully on another device using said password), I continued to be denied access and receive the error 'The password is incorrect. Try again.'

I'm at a complete and total loss about what to do at this point. This is my main computer, so re-gaining access is a big priority. I realise that your response to Winni's original post was quite a while ago now, but any assistance at all with fixing this issue would be immensely appreciated.
