Yes, I did try DOS Box.

DOS Box was primarily introduced to support old DOS legacy gaming software and so is deliberately slowed down so that games run at a playable speed. The two DOS legacy apps I need to continue using are DBASE bespoke developed and running these in DOS box slowed them down to an unusable crawl despite many hours playing with DOS Box configuration settings.

UPDATE: I've now also reached out to Insyde [BIOS manufacturer] to see if they can suggest anything ...

    Hi Bharat Bhushan Patel,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

When you boot from the USB, did you then select the option 'Custom: Install Windows Only', then on the next window, delete all partitions on the drive, then the whole drive is marked as 'Unallocated Space', then select that space and click 'Next' to begin the installation?

If that is the method you are using, at what point in the installation process do you get an error, how far into the installation do you get?

I'm getting the exact same problem as Bharat per opening thread] - I need to install Win 10 32 bit - 2 essential 8-bit legacy DOS apps must run and VMs just don't function nicely - I've tried that route and discounted].

Target device is a 4 year old HP 250 G7 notebook - Secure Boot = Disabled & Legacy Boot = Enabled

Per Dave's reply above, when selecting the Win 10 32-bit option from the Windows Media Creation created [22H2] USB stick, the failure message Bharat describes occurs immediately after [or maybe during] the "loading files" sequence, it won't go as far as selecting "Custom Install".

This issue has many threads on the web, but I've yet to find one providing a solution. Only the VERY unhelpful: "Why do you want to install 32-bit?"

I don't have an answer about installing 32bit windows but have you tried DOSBox.

DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

You may need to enable legacy BIOS or CSM to install 32-bit Windows 10.

This thread has some inputs from Rafael Rivera and ReidHershel that can be helpful. Windows 10 32-bit native UEFI install on Desktop/laptop with processor - Microsoft Community

The Maintenance and Service guide for "HP PC Pro Mini 260 G9" is here:

    https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_7928375_en-US-1.pdf

It states: "HP has provided options in Computer Setup (BIOS) to allow you to run in legacy BIOS, if required by the operating system. Examples of this requirement would be if you upgrade or downgrade the OS."

    May I know why you're installing 32-bit Windows 10?
