I see this convo came to a screeching halt. I'm here for the same reason, and getting advice like "system restore" or "network reset" is advice my 8th grader would give me. I expected for an "expert" to identify possible causes of the problem, and steps to rectify it. In my case, it's a fresh install of Windows 11, so there are NO restore points, and a network reset is pointless.
Devices / Computers not showing up in Network
For some reason I can't see any devices on the network anymore, not even my own PC. It used to work just fine, but now nothing is showing up inside the Network (0 items) and I didn't changed anything at all (I didn't installed any new program, didn't update/remove any drivers).
Inside settings it is set to Private network, Function Discovery Provider Host and Function Discovery Resource Publication are both running, in Advanced sharing settings / Network discovery is set to On, All network / Public folder sharing is set to On.
The internet itself is working at full 1 Gbps (tested with Speedtest and downloaded files), just the devices on the network aren't showing up anymore, and I did used it a few days ago when I transferred some files from this PC to a laptop, and also from laptop side I can see the PC and access it using the username and password.
What else should I check or do to fix it?

2023-05-18T11:55:12+00:00 I tried that, and I even tried reinstalling network drivers.
If I remove the LAN cable then my own PC shows up inside Network, but as soon as I plug it back in and the identification process is done, then it disappears as well, and nothing else is shown.
I'm using Eset Smart Security Premium as antivirus (yes I tried to uninstall it also but it was still not working), and inside it it has a function (Network Inspector) that shows all the devices from the network, and in there I can see them all, but inside Network, still nothing is showing up, so it has to be something with that Windows feature/program/app.
I just tried now to access my PC from the laptop, and it was showing, and I was able to copy some files that were marked as shared. But on the PC I still can't see anything.

2023-05-18T09:19:11+00:00 Thank you for checking. Since we cannot use the system restore process, let's then try to reset the network settings (Settings -> Network and Internet -> Status -> Network Reset).
If you are familiar with the PowerShell (click start menu's search bar > type in PowerShell > run it as admin), you may also do the steps from here: https://woshub.com/network-computers-not-showin...
It has the step by step process as well to enable the Network discovery.
Let me know if this helps.

2023-05-18T05:40:26+00:00 Since this had just happened recently. I highly recommend doing a system restore process.
That is not possible as the last restore point is after the problem. To be more precise I installed .Net Developer kit that yesterday but after I noticed the problem (even so that wouldn't cause this problem) and that created a point, and it is the only one.

2023-05-17T16:01:12+00:00 Hello,
My name is Hanem, an independent advisor, and I'm here to help you.
I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you.
When did the issue start to happen?
Have you switched networks you were connected to before?
You may first check and restart your modem and Wi-Fi router:
- Unplug your wireless router and modem from power source (remove the battery if your modem has a battery backup).
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Plug your wireless router and modem back into power source again (put the battery back to the modem).
- On your PC, reconnect to your WiFi network, then see if it shows up.
Then follow the steps from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix...
I hope this helps, feel free to contact me for any further questions.
