Windows 11 Activation Error Code: 0xc004f012

Hi. About a week ago, I had to reinstall Windows 11 on my HP Laptop, as something was corrupt and my laptop would keep failing to restart. Once I was able to reinstall windows 11 and reset my laptop, my laptop told me Windows wasn't activated, and when I went to activate it, I got the error code: 0xc004f012. I've had this laptop for 3 years, and it came with windows 10. I upgraded to Windows 11 sometime last year, and have had nothing but issues with it. This was the 4th time I've had to reinstall it. I've looked up the error code, which apparently has to do with a corrupt windows license, but none of the solutions I've found have worked for me. I would really appreciate the help!

Did you ever figure it out,

the same thing happened to me.

Same issue here. Bought Windows 11 Pro lisence, so no upgrading or anything. Installed on a newly built rig with all custom parts. Worked fine for a year or so, and now suddenly not activated. Troubleshooter is completely useless. Doesn't accept the key i have. What is going on here!?

Edit: Also activate now by "using a phone" is not even a option for me, there is no such option. I'm using the version 23H2, build (22635.2486). None of the "steps to get it working" are working. I can't even contact anyone from support, because all support steps lead to the "activate by phone" option, that doesn't exist. Fantastic.

Edit: The only thing i can think of is i used Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool (ASUS) to remove any bloatware/spyware from ASUS running on my system. The issue raised it's ugly head some time after.

Hi. Thank you for the response. I am connected to the internet, so that isn't the issue. When I tried to use the Troubleshooter, it gives me error code 0xc0000022. As far as the product key goes, it doesn't show me the full key in the settings, only the last 4 of it.

Error code 0xc004f012 is a common activation error in Windows 11 that occurs when there is an issue with the product key or licensing information.

Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check your internet connection: Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and that your network connection is stable. A poor or unstable internet connection can cause activation issues.
    2. Use the Activation Troubleshooter: Windows 11 has an Activation Troubleshooter that can help you diagnose and resolve activation issues. To access it, go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Troubleshoot. Follow the prompts to troubleshoot the activation issue.
    3. Check your product key: Make sure that you are using a valid product key. If you upgraded from Windows 10, your product key should still be valid for Windows 11. You can check your product key by going to Settings > System > About and scrolling down to the "Windows specifications" section.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above solutions work, you can contact Microsoft Support for assistance. They may be able to help you resolve the activation issue or provide you with a new product key if needed.

I hope one of these solutions helps you resolve the activation issue. If you continue to experience problems, feel free to reach out for further assistance.
