How to turn off BitLocker recovery key?

Every time i log in i need to enter a BitLocker recovery key- a feature i didn't set up. It just happened automatically after I changed my laptop's battery.

I can't deactivate it through "settings" since it doesn't give me that option. On the website it says to use the control panel and type in a specific command- but that didn't work. I tried updating the system to see if that would help, but it didn't solve the problem.

Is there any other way to make the system stop asking me for a bitlocker every time i log in?

    Hello Sofia, how are you?

    Press Winodws+R, type cmd and click Ok, then type the command below and press Enter:

    manage-bde -status

    After that, share an image of this screen, please.

    Also check if it is possible to remove BitLocker this way.

    1. Press Windows+Q and type:

    Manage Bitlocker

    1. After that, check the disk that had the encryption and click on Disable BitLocker;
    2. Wait for it to finish.

    Hi Paloma, how are you?

    Thank you for your help. I tried following your first suggestion and this message showed up even though i have admin access:

    "BitLocker Drive Encryption: Configuration Tool version 10.0.19041

    Copyright (C) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    ERROR: An attempt to access a required resource was denied.

    Check that you have administrative rights on the computer."

    Any clue as to why this is?
