It is actually possible using Windows Fax & Scan with a little more effort, it took me a while to find this. I do not have access to install additional software on my work laptop hence I needed to do this with the standard tools in Windows.
The process is
- Use Fax & Scan to scan your pages as separate images, as normal.
- Ensure you name them so they will appear in the correct order eg Page1.jpg Page2.jpg etc
- Find the files in Documents/Scanned Documents folder.
- Select the ones you want in your PDF - check they are in the right order for the pages you want.
- Right click the image you want as the first page - this is important as it tells Windows which page to start on. The other pages will be selected based on the order shown in File Explorer.
- Click Print from the menu then select Microsoft Print to PDF option.
- You may need to change the settings eg Landscape to Portrait before you click Print.
This process produces a single PDF from the multiple image files produced by Fax & Scan.
