I typed "sync" into the search bar on the upper left of the account page.
How can I turn off the sync function my Microsoft account from my windows 11 laptop?
I really want to un sync my windows 11 laptop from my desktop computer connected with the same Microsoft account. Every time I delete something on my laptop to free up space I don’t want it to be deleted from desktop. How do I change this? Please and thank you for your time.

2023-09-14T00:19:11+00:00 There is no way to turn off sync.. the only solution i am aware of is
1 . uninstall onedrive
- create a new microsoft email address everytime you reset or reinstall windows..
you could then use a local account if you wanted to..
And yes you can uncheck all the folders in sync .. but you cannot actually turn off sync..
And when you reset your pc with the same email address.. it installs all your favourites and extensions..
making resetting your pc a waste of time
My only solution is as above.. reset pc / create new microsoft email address / uninstall onedrive / turn off sync folders..
thats about the only workable solution

2023-08-06T22:01:00+00:00 I think I found the solution for Sync on Windows 11.
Open Edge browser and go to Settings > Profiles > Sign Out (button)
On the pop-up window confirm with Sign Out, which will also disable sync.
If (for some reason) you want to enable sync again, you just log back in.
I didn't find the way to turn off sync while being signed in on Edge, but as for me, I don't want to be signed in anyways.
