DWM crash and Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll Causing black screen

when i play games and so far tested it with 5 games so far and 4 out the 5 games causes the black screen in which the monitor looses signal and the only way to turn the monitor back on is to manually restart/shutdown the pc either from pressing the power button or manually on the keyboard. the times in which the monitor looses signal is some what random and only a few games have a constant area in which causes the issue such as starting the game and ones i get to control the character the monitor turns of and fan at high speed (while one other game have no effect at all).

i have done all the possible fixes like installing drivers, updating everything, scan for malware, reset windows and such. i have also recently heard that that if you connect an box one controller is possible the cause and the suggested fix was to install Xbox accessories and update the controller, after testing that has not fixed my issue.

in the previous question i have they asked to install a intel graphs driver in which may solve the issue but as soon as i try to install it it got a error message saying no driver was found that can be installed on current device, i don't understand it as i have an NVidia graphics card but they suggested to install intel's???

any help would be greatly appreciated.

PC spec:

Intel Core i7-9700F

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB)

Edoras motherboard

Internal PSU 500 W

HyperX 16 GB Ram

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Performance and system failures

I am also seeing this as of late...I thought it might be related to VideoStudio, but based on logs, VideoStudio might just be pushing the video card hard enough to cause this crash, which looks to be Windows or NVIDIA driver caused...still digging to see if anybody has resolved this as it is terribly annoying, espcially when one is trying to create a memorial video for their aunt and it needs to be done in 4 days!

VideoStudio 2021 and 2023 both crashing when editing a new simple VS Project 8 minutes long with ~50 pictures, Pan and Zoom on them, Crossfade transistions and a single audio track. I run 3 monitors, a NVIDIA 2060 card with the latest Studio drivers, SSD drive, i7 4-core with 16GB of RAM and was having issues with VideoStudio 2021 and now after upgrade, the issues continue. During editing at times, my screens all flicker, the desktop background goes black and VS hangs, looks like it comes back to life and once I click on the timeline, locks up and I have to End Task on VS to get things to come back to life. I do not have any other seen issues with any other applications. Below is my system summary and hardware info along with the relevant event logs.

    Hello,

i have already done this and i have tried to do it again with no luck even when the outcome says corrupted files are fixed after using restore health, i have tested it on a game (dying light) in which basically guarantee to get black monitor loose connection issue as soon as i get control of the character, its really strange as that i play ARK and RDR2 for many hours and those game don't get effected by it while playing on ultra setting to test. while smaller games like dying light which crashes immediately and or genshin which will crash within 45 minutes of starting it up while playing on LOW in game settings setting . so far i have managed to play genshin by placing it on low graphics mode and windowed and it seems to work fine with no issue.

    Hi Deus,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Since the faulting module is a system file driver, I will first recommend htat you use System File Checker to check and fix corrupted system files that may be the cause of the issue. Please refer to the link.
