As of around august a new update was queued for my pc, which I then installed. The update blue screened my pc then uninstalled it and my pc was back to normal. I then started trying to figure out why, I scanned for viruses and corrupt files etc, none were the cause.

Then recently I got on my pc and Microsoft popped up and said update your pc so it can keep supporting windows 11. I updated it and I blue screened but the update didn’t uninstall this time. I recently figured out that it was the update itself and not the pc. After restarting the pc over and over again the issue was not resolved and now I do not know what to do.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, as of the moment you cannot use the PC right? In this case, kindly follow the steps below:

First, we need to go to Windows recovery mode and try the options there:

Restart the device 3-5 times until I reach Windows recovery mode, wherein you have the option to select Continue, Troubleshoot, or Exit.

Or try to Press and hold the Shift key while continuously pressing F8 while starting the PC

    Then on Windows Recovery:

    Do system Restore:

Click Troubleshoot> Advanced options> System restore - Follow the prompt and choose the date when it was working fine.

Note: Once done, we need to get the logs to analyze what is causing the issue, can you please check if you have minidump files on the PC so that we can further examine what is the root cause of the issue?

Press Windows key + E (To open file explorer)

Click "This PC" > then follow the file path:

    C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy the Minidump files and save them to another location like Desktop or Documents.

Then please upload it to Cloud storage like OneDrive or any cloud storage you are using and please share the shareable link here.

To upload and share the link using One Drive:

Go to this link: https://onedrive.live.com/ then upload the file.

Then provide the shareable link by following the steps from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/shar...

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard

Hi, thanks for replying, it is okay, no problem about that, it means the system restore is automatically created on your PC and it is okay to proceed.

    Bernard,

Sorry for being constantly nagging but in the tutorial you linked me the system restore file type was “manual”, and the one on my pc was labeled as “install”, is this okay? I just wanted to be certain before I did this so I didn’t ruin my pc more. Thanks!

    Bernard,

After doing both methods my computer did not go into recovery mode. It only just starts up with a screen that has a box of text and two buttons that read “Restart” and “Advanced Options”. So if there is a video link that you can forward to see if I’m doing the steps wrong that would be great. Thanks!
