Mustafa E, you very specifically failed to address the issue.

This keyboard has an FN key. It also has functions tied to the F1-F12 keys. What it does NOT have is a fn lock button. I need to toggle the fn key so that it does not automatically change the volume or brightness when I use a quick action bound permanently to an f1-12 key in a game or switch devices. Or ignore my alt+f4 to quick close a window or shut down my computer. For the record, fn and delete, fn and esc, fn and shift, fn and caps lock do not work. These suggestions are all over the internet. I applaud your attempt but you locked the question from receiving feedback from the REST of the community without verifying that the problem was actually solved.

I suspect this issue is not related to windows, but rather to the specific hardware driver provided by the manufacturer. The question shouldn't really be here but since nobody has an answer on any platform that I've looked at I assume that the only possible solution will be to SOMEHOW replace the driver.

If anybody has any advice to THAT end I would appreciate some back and forth. Given that I'm pretty sure that there's no fix for this at this time, would it be possible to fix it by creating a custom driver for windows, is that even possible, and does anybody have any advice for how to go about teaching myself to do that?? I have background in C, Java, and a little python but I'm happy to learn if it'll mean being able to provide a fix to the other 800 people I've seen complaining about this.

Hi Paul, let me try to assist you.

So, what you need is like to toggle Function Key so whenever you press F# button the default function should be used and not the sub function of the key.

With modern wireless keyboard toggle of function key is avaialble. To use this, do the method below:

Press Function key and Escape simultaneously ( Fn + Esc )
Then check the result. This command is normally used to toggle Function Key as if it is a Caps Lock key.

But not all wireless keyboard has that ability. You will still need to check the Keyboard Model and check it with the support page of their site.

I hope this helps. Let me know if the problem still persist, don't hesitate to ask for further assistance.

again, as stated in my original post, that does not work. Nor do ANY of the other common toggle combinations. I even listed them specifically so that you would know this. It's in the sixth line of actual text (8th if you're a coder and count blank lines)

So while I do appreciate the effort to assist, you didn't expend the effort to read the entire post which is a bit of a pet peeve of mine for obvious reasons.

At the moment I am trying to locate somewhere to download the keyboard's driver from because I CANNOT imagine that nobody else has actually complained to the manufacturer about this garbage.

barring that, once again, I believe a custom driver will have to be created and released open source. THAT is what I'm questioning.

IUPDATE: have looked into it and there is no standalone driver for the keyboard in question. The only way to fix this problem will be to create a custom driver. So if anybody can point me at any really detailed tutorials or materials on how to create third party drivers that would be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance.
