I am also having the same issue after the update today. I have not been able to figure it out yet. Microsoft always sending out updates that break our computers.
My second displays stopped working after windows 11 22H2 update
Hi there,
Since Windows 11 updated the 22H2 version on my laptop (automatically) my seconds monitors are not connecting anymore. when connecting them to the laptop windows is showing the monitors in the display settings (see screenshot below). However, the monitors are not responding and going to sleep since there is 'no video input'.
I tried several thing to restore the connection:
- Update windows and restart
- Update driver monitor (and also removing and reinstall)
- Checked all cables and connections
- Tried other laptop with same connection (USB-C), that still worked the way it should be.
The setup I use:
- Dell XPS 9310 - 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz
Intel Iris Xe graphics
- Windows 11 home – version 22H2
- Display 1: PHL 234V7
- Display 2: PHL 240V5A
- Connection with HDMI (both monitors)
- Both monitors are plugged in a ‘sitecom usb-c multiport pro adapter’ with HDMI and the adapter itself is connected to the laptop via USB-C; this setup is still working with my other laptop.
I tried an other adapter too with only one HDMI port, that is still working; unfortunately that's only for one monitor and not two.
I hope somebody can help me with this problem.
Cheers

2022-12-18T22:44:22+00:00 Hi Martin,
I am sorry you are having this problem. I know it is really frustrating. My name is Cindy.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB driver?
Many times, reinstalling the USB drivers may fix this problem. I have attached the directions below.
- Please right click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager. Then hit enter.
This will open the Device Manager.
- Scroll down the page and click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers
- Right click on all of the file drivers and uninstall them. Don't worry. Windows will reinstall them.
- Then restart the computer. Windows will reinstall the drivers and fix any USB problems.
Sincerely,
Cindy

2023-02-23T18:02:07+00:00 Here's what worked for me. In Device Manager > Display Adapters, Uninstall the driver for Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics. Disconnect the non-working monitors. Reboot. Once back in, go into Device Manager > Display Adapters > Driver and roll back the driver for Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics to the previous version (31.0.101.3616 works for me). Then plug in the non working monitors.
I'm running a Dell Lattitude 5420, Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics, One HP 32" Monitor (that kept working throughout) and two Viotek HA238 monitors (the ones with troubles). Monitors are connected via two display ports converted to HDMI and one HDMI port on a Dell WD195 Docking Port.
It started happening with the Windows 11 22H2 update.
