Video Player and Youtube flickering and displaying weirdly.

While I'm on Youtube a rectangle part of my screen very rarely flickers, not all of it. On Windows's video player the video has like red and blue colors matching what's on screen like those old 3d effect. On any game, any other app I haven't seen any flickers or weird colors. Also using Youtube and Video Player on my second monitor does not show any issues.

    Hello,

Based on the screenshot, it seems that the Nvidia card outputs the image to the Intel card, which outputs to both of your screens. The external monitor (the "TV" in the screenshot) may require certain output formats that your laptop's internal screen not fully support. Does the "TV" connects to your laptop's HDMI port directly, or using an adaptor?

If it connects to HDMI directly, try changing the PhysX processor to the Nvidia GPU and see whether the issue persists.

For further examination, please tell me the exact brand and model of your laptop to check the port specifications and whether your Nvidia GPU supports direct connection.

    Hello,

Since you have mentioned that you are using a laptop, they usually have 2 GPUs: an integrated GPU (typically Intel or AMD) and a dedicated one (the 3050 you have mentioned). Are you using both the laptop's screen and an external monitor? If so, please set them to use the same GPU--as I have asked above--and see whether the issue persists.

Also, does the issue exist when you disconnect your external monitor? If it does not happen, it is probably because the laptop's screen is set to a non-standard resolution. Please press Windows+P and provide a screenshot to let me know how do you use your screens.

Regarding the screen blanking issue, it is sometimes caused by the GPU overheating. To check for this, please open Task Manager->Performance, and check the GPU's temperature after the screen went blank.

Yes I am using a laptop and it only has an 3050. I was just an hour ago working on adobe premiere and the screen went black for 2 to 3 seconds.. I think this occurred while Premiere was auto saving. Premiere has not done the same thing when used in my other monitor, not on laptop's. Exactly similar to how you would wake up the monitor using Windows+Ctrl+Shift+B. Reinstalling GPU drivers did not solve the issue

    Hello,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting to the community.

To better understand the problem, I want to ask a few questions:

    • Does your computer have multiple GPUs? If your computer has an integrated GPU and a discrete one, try setting all your displays to use the same GPU and see whether the issue persists.
    • Since you mentioned that this phenomenon only happens in one screen, are you using a laptop? If not, are both screens the same model?

In the meantime, we would like you to provide us with some answers to the above questions first. So that we can provide you with a more accurate solution.

We look forward to your response.

    Best Regards,
