Hello team,

How can I find out the first activation date of my Windows device? I need my device age. My device has Win11-22H2. How can I find out the actual date/time from when my device was first initialized?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Elif

    Hi Elif,

I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your concern. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't provide a direct way to check the activation date of your device. However, you can estimate it by looking at the "Original Install Date" in Command Prompt. Here's how:

    > Open Command Prompt as an administrator.

    > Type systeminfo and press Enter.

    > Look for the "Original Install Date" field.

This date should give you an idea of when your Windows operating system was first installed. Keep in mind that this assumes the OS has only been installed once.

    Hope this helps!

    John J.D.

    Hi John,

    Thank you for your reply.

I already checked systeminfo and "Original Install Date", but I noticed that the "Original Install Date" changes when Windows is upgraded (for example: from Windows 10 to Windows 11). Please guide me if there is a clearer and more accurate way to find out.

    Looking forward to your response,

    Elif

    Hi Elif,

Yes, the method I mentioned earlier is for estimation purposes, assuming that the OS is installed only once, the “Original Install Date” field can provide some insight into the age of the PC.

There is no method or way to know the first activation date of your Windows device from the operating system itself. The only possible ways are to contact Microsoft Support or check your purchase receipt for that information.

    Here is the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/home/contact

    > Type a keyword and press Enter.

    > Then click "Contact Support"

They should be able to help you further with your query.

    Thank you!
