SOLVED: Audio is suddenly so quiet on my Headset (Logitech g pro x)

So my problem is like that: I am currently using my G pro x with the windows usb driver, not the Logitech one as it messes with volume in different applications. I never had any issues with the windows usb audio driver. However, today my headset was completely quiet. I normally run it at 20% volume wich is perfectly fine but since today i get the same result at 80 % which is weird as I did not change any settings at all. If i swapp to the logitech driver the volume is fine but as mentioned earlier it is changing the volume of games and apps to an unacceptable amount hence i don't want to stick with it. Winodws troubleshooting does not detect anything and i have already de-/ reinstalled the drivers mulitple times. So basically the problem mus lie on the generic Windows usb audio driver. Does anyone know how to fix that? Help is highly appreciated - thank you!

Thank you. I just wanted to set this thread to solved. After multiple times trying i refreshed the driver again and suddenly it worked. The issue was located in the Levels tab of tge Sound control panel. It was set to 6 instead of 100 (i have no Idea why) and i could Not change IT without touching the overall windows volume (there where two sliders: the common system volume and one for the headset aswell which was set to 6). After a Driver refresh both worked individually and i could change it to previous levels. Before that both sliders where synchronized in a strange Ratio which caused the low volume.

I don't know what and how i resolved the issue for sure nor do i know what caused the problem in the first place. Anyways, it works now.

I looked at that headset, and does it have an actual soundcard which plugs into the USB port? Is there a Logitech utility which works with it? I know you mention you don't like the Logitech utility, but is it a driver for the soundcard or a USB driver of some sort?

When you uninstall a device, do you normally check the box to remove all drivers?

There have been some recent Windows updates, have you gotten any of those lately? Maybe that would explain the changes.

Does your computer show a USB audio component in the Device Manager Sound, video and game controllers section?

Do any other connection options, on that headset, make a difference?

    Hello Christoph,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting to the community.

We fully understand the inconvenience the issue has caused and that the current situation can be frustrating. It's unusual for the volume behavior to change suddenly without any apparent reason. If you're encountering volume issues with your Logitech G Pro X headset while using the Windows USB audio driver, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and narrow down the problem:

    1. Check Physical Connections:
      • Ensure that your headset is properly connected to the USB port.
      • Try connecting it to a different USB port to see if the issue persists.
    2. Rollback USB Audio Driver:
      • If the issue started after a Windows update, you can try rolling back the USB audio driver to a previous version by going to "Device Manager," right-clicking the device, selecting "Properties," and using the "Roll Back Driver" option if available.
    3. Perform a system restore:
      • If the issue started after a Windows update, and if you can't roll back the driver then you can try using System Restore to roll back to the state before the problem occurred. Use System Restore - Microsoft Support

If you have important data, please take care to back it up.

Hope you are keeping safe and well. Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.

    Sincerely
