I bought a new computer with one SSD. About my old computer, it had 1 SSD originally(the system drive), but I add another one as the apps drive. Now, I move the old apps drive SSD from my old computer to the new computer. I found in the old apps drive SSD it has a file called WindowsApps and its owner is trustedinstaller. So how can I delete this file?

Win10: Have you ever tired downloading anything in WindowsApps in Settings, Apps? Well you can't. It doesn't even appear so how can you delete it? It also doesn't appear in Control Panel, Programs and Features. How wonderful is that? The arrogance of Microsoft is unbelievable. They make the most USELESS programs, force the download on you then make it impossible to uninstall this garbage.

I just got 2.9 gb of utter WindowsApp crud from Microsoft today and can't get rid of it. My C drive has 1.6 gb left. I've paired it down as much as I can - no programs are on it that can be on another drive.

The "WindowsApps" folder is a system folder on Windows 10 and Windows 11 that contains installed Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps from the Microsoft Store. Deleting this folder can lead to problems with your installed apps and potentially cause issues with your operating system. It's generally not recommended to delete the WindowsApps folder.

If you want to free up space on your system drive, it's better to uninstall unused or unnecessary apps through the "Settings" app or by right-clicking on the app's icon in the Start menu and selecting "Uninstall." This will remove the app and its associated files properly without risking damage to your system.

In case you still want to delete the folder, there is a step by step guide by the HelpDeskGeek: How to Access the Windowsapps Folder in Windows 10 (helpdeskgeek.com)

    I hope this helps

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The only method to remove the WindowsApps folder from that drive will be to temporarily move any data you want to keep on that drive temporarily to another drive, format that drive and then move the other data back onto that drive.
