Keys are typing the wrong characters

Ive been having an issue in which when I press keys that have two symbols that require shift to type, such as the AT symbol or the brackets, it types a completely different character. For example, pressing shift and 2 produces ", pressing shift and 0 produces = instead of the closing parenthesis. This happens for keys with two characters even when I dont press shift. For example I cant put any apostrophes on any of the previous words because pressing the key produces { instead of the apostrophe. The only keys not affected are the letter keys. Not only that, I know its something to do with the computer because when I use my keyboard on another computer, it functions like normal. It only does this on my laptop.

HI, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

This usually happens when the keyboard language set in Windows does not match the language of your physical keyboard.

    1

If the @ symbol on your keyboard is above the 2, you have a US English Keyboard

If the " symbol on your keyboard is above the 2, you have a UK English Keyboard

Check in the Settings App - Time and Language - Language to see if your keyboard language is set correctly.

    2

If that is not what is above the number 2 on your keyboard, please provide a photo of your keyboard, so I can work out the correctly language of that layout.

I have a US English keyboard but when I checked, my keyboard's language had been changed to the UK keyboard. Thanks! It works now.
